The library is our own treasure trove of forgotten, books, vintage recording equipment and board games. Isolated from the rest of the studio, it’s a quieter place to work on something new or talk something out.
There’s plenty of mains and USB power for devices, free client wi-fi and Hi-fi equipment including Rega turntable and a stack of LPs and CDs.
It also houses our kitchen which has microwave facilities and a proper selection of teas and posh coffee. Whilst alongside the milk in the fridge, we stock our own homemade ale from the ‘Spacewolf Brewing Company’ (which for tax and licensing reasons, we should probably assure you is not a real company). These are our very own beers, brewed exclusively for the studio by a local micro-brewer.
With mic tie lines to the control room and treated walls, The Library actually acts as our third live room and can be used when extra space is needed, when you’re after a slightly ‘deader’ room sound, or just for that occasion when your bass player is refusing to do another take unless he gets to sit on soft furnishings.
As for what the ‘library’ itself holds, someone once had the bright/crazy idea to put together a list of all the books we have here. So, for pretty much no reason at all, please feel free to take a look below…
